home/body

I think of houses as living entities with layers of secrets and histories, hidden within the cracked walls and creaky floors. I often see myself as a temporary guest inhabiting a domestic space, which will eventually become a part of someone else’s history. Returning to my earlier memories associated with home and domesticity, I use sewing, image-making, and cooking as tools for questioning and examining my relationship with home. What is home? How do we define home? From past memories to lucid dreams to my current place of residence, my complicated memories and ideas of home are sometimes serious, yet, sometimes playful. I am interested in various ways of looking, collecting, and preserving the intimacy within our own domestic spaces and how we further define those spaces as home.
